Rules and details
Football Name Chain is the word chain game played with footballers. Each name has to start with the last letter of the one before, so one answer sets up the next: a chain that ends in a hard letter is a trap you set for yourself.
First name or surname both count, so Anthony Martial answers A and M, and the next letter is the last letter of the name he is known by. Accents are ignored: Özil starts with O. You have 10 seconds per name, a wrong answer costs only the time it took, and no footballer can be used twice in a day's run.
Every day has three chains, each from a different well-known footballer. Your score is every name across the three, and the clock shortens by a second every five names, down to six seconds. New chains arrive at midnight Argentina time; without an account you play the previous days, and signed-in players get today's chains and the daily leaderboard.
With friends it becomes a knockout. Open a room for 2 to 6 players and take turns on one shared chain: run out of time and you are out of the round, the last one standing takes the point, and the first to 3 points wins.
