Rules and details

Football Darts 501 is darts played with footballers. You start on 501, and every dart is a footballer from the category of the day: his number in that category, such as appearances or goals, comes off your score. Name the players, watch the total fall and try to finish in as few darts as you can.

You check out by landing anywhere from 0 down to −10, so you do not have to hit zero exactly. A number over 180 scores nothing, and going below −10 is a bust: the dart is used and your score stays where it was. A name that is not in the category also uses a dart without scoring. A name you already threw, one we cannot find, or one that fits more than one player costs nothing, so you just go again. A solo leg has 10 darts.

There is one leg a day, with the same category for everyone. Without an account you play past days; signed-in players get today's game and the daily leaderboard, which ranks fewer darts first, then closer to 0. If you do not check out, the game tells you how many players could have from your final score, and their names appear when the day closes. Share your row of darts when you finish.

With friends it is a room for 2 to 6 players. You take turns, each on your own 501, with a turn clock. After a checkout the round is finished and the player closest to 0 wins the leg; if nobody checks out, the lowest score takes it. Each player has 10 darts a leg, and the match is best of 3 legs. Over 180, past −10, a wrong name or time running out scores nothing.
