A new board every day · no account needed
20 picture cards, 3 clues, 8 cards to find. As a guest you play past days; with an account, today's board and the leaderboard.
How to play
- 1
Each day's board is 20 cards, the same for everyone: 8 are yours, 7 the rival's, 4 neutral and one is the Own Goal. Only the Scout knows which is which.
- 2
The bot Scout gives you three clues, one at a time: a football word and a number, like “Real Madrid · 3”. The number says how many of your cards it points to.
- 3
Flip a card you think fits. A right card keeps the clue going; a rival or neutral card ends that clue and the next one comes.
- 4
Find all 8 before the clues run out. The Own Goal ends the run at once. Share your board and climb the daily leaderboard.
Rules and details
Football Codenames is the classic word-and-team party game, played with football picture cards. One player, the Scout, knows which cards belong to which team and gives a single football clue with a number. The others guess which cards the clue points to, and every wrong flip helps the rival or ends the turn.
The 20 cards are football pictures: caricatures of legends, famous stadiums and football memes. A clue can be anything from football: a player, a club, a manager, a stadium, a national team or a famous moment, like “Mourinho · 2” or “Hand of God · 1”. One card on every board is the Own Goal, and flipping it ends the game.
A new board arrives every day at midnight Argentina time, the same for everyone. The bot Scout gives three clues; find your 8 cards before they run out. A wrong card ends that clue, the Own Goal ends the run. Without an account you play the previous days; signed-in players get today's board and the daily leaderboard, where more cards found ranks higher. Share your board when you finish.
With friends it is a team game. Open a room for 2 to 8 players and split into two teams, Home and Away. Each player picks a side as Scout, who sees which card is whose, or as a guesser; a team without a Scout gets the bot Scout. Scouts type any football clue and a number, their team flips the cards, and the first team to find all its cards wins, unless someone flips the Own Goal first. No coins or RP are at stake.
Play past days without an account; sign in for today's board and the daily leaderboard.
